Political forces of Armenia demand to stop criminal prosecution of the participants of peaceful march

Ten parties, including the "Republic", "Democratic Homeland", Armenian All-National Movement, Liberal-Progressive and Conservative Parties, People's Party of Armenia and others, demand to stop unjustified criminal prosecution of the participants of the peaceful march on October 23.

"The actions of the authorities undertaken against the participants of the peaceful and lawful march on October 23 are illegal and violently break human rights and civil freedoms," runs the statement of the ten parties.

The authors of the statement mark that with the aim to conceal "the barbarous actions and hide the criminals," the police has initiated criminal prosecution against the editors of the newspapers "Armenian Time" and "The Fourth Power" Nikola Pashinyan and Shoger Matevosyan, and the Chairman of the Party "Democratic Homeland" Petros Makeyan and his two sons.

The political forces who signed the statement call to bring to responsibility the main authors of the provocation and violent actions - the high-ranking officials of the police.
