Ecologist from Adygea calls Russian journalists to cover the case of the Sochi National Park

On November 9, the Supreme Court of Adygea will consider not only the issue of zoning of the Sochi National Park, but also the extent, to which "the national judiciary mechanism has got rusty."

This was the topic of the electronic dispatch made by Valery Brinikh, co-chairman of the Board of the International Social and Ecological Union.

Earlier, on October 22, he acted as a private claimant in this case and won the first instance trial.

"It turned out," Valery Brinikh writes, "that the legitimate ruling of the Maikop judge has dangerously shattered the vertical of power that is built not on the law but on 'representations'."

In this connection, he asks journalists of Russia to support the judges, which are under Kremlin's pressure. Addressing the journalists, Mr Brinikh says: "...I call on all non-indifferent journalists to broadly cover the trial and, if possible, by their personal presence to ensure the objective consideration of the case by the cassation instance."

  • Khamzat Kadyrov confirms drone attack on Chechnya

    Secretary of the Chechen Security Council Khamzat Kadyrov has posted on a social networking service a video of the destruction of a drone. The Chechen official has also added that all the drones launched today to attack the republic had been shot down.
