People in Turkey protest against the 450th anniversary of voluntary affiliation of Adygs by Russia and 2014 Olympics in Sochi

In front of the Russian Embassy in Istanbul, on October 4, the "Zhineps" Circassian Organization of Turkey held a protest action against the celebrations of the 450th anniversary of voluntary accession of Adygs to the Russian state and against 2014 Olympiad to be held in the city of Sochi, reports the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent with reference to the "Nart Edzens" Agency.

The initiators of the meeting have noted in their statement that the action was held by the organization, where internationalism is one of ideological norms.

In the opinion of the protesters, both the celebrations of the 450th anniversary, and, especially, the intention to hold the Olympiad in the region, where genocide was committed in the recent past, are nothing but manifestations of imperialism.

The "Zhineps" organization is far from accusing the Russian people of all that happens; its attitude is same respectful as to other nations of the world. In the opinion of the members of the organization, all these events are beneficiary not to the people but to the "ruling clique" - and the Russian people "are a part of those by means of whom the authorities are getting what they want."

The organization has emphasized that "the act not only against the Russian imperialism, but also, for example, the American one - against such a state system, in which nations are not allowed to act in the name of their freedom and to enjoy it."
