Authorities of Dagestan discuss recent terror acts

Today, a sitting of the Security Council and a joint meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Defence and the workers of law enforcement bodies "On Operative and Social-Political Situation in Dagestan" were held in Makhachkala.

According to Adilgerey Magomedtagirov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan, as of today, practically all the militants' groups have been liquidated in Dagestan: "In 2007, 37 members of illegal armed formations were liquidated, and 53 more detained."

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that early in the morning on September 30, 9 persons were shot dead in Gonoda village of the Gunib District. The residents of the village have no doubts that their fellow villagers were executed by members of illegal armed formations.

At night on September 30, in Dagestan city of Kizilyurt, Magomedrasul Gasanov, head of the criminal search department of the Kizilyurt GOVD (City Militia Unit), was shot dead on his way home from work.

At about 1 p.m. near the district capital of Sergokala, Dagestan, unknown persons shelled from the forestland the car driven by a private security Askhab Ibragimov. The latter then died from his wounds.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report.
