Chernobyl liquidators from the Rostov Region will get their debts before the end of the year

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of the Region that under the claims of the Chernobyl accident liquidators from the Rostov Region, the judicial bodies passed more than six thousand decisions on indexing the sums intended for compensation of harm to their health and other monetary payments.

The claims of the liquidators were submitted to local bodies of social care, which acted only as the bodies in charge of paying out the allotted federal funds. Because of the default of the federal bodies to enforce these decisions, the Federal Exchequer had blocked the accounts of the bodies of social care of the population opened with the aim to spend the regional budget funds on social support of regional privileged residents.

President Putin ordered the government to prepare proposals on settling the problem.

As a result of all these events, in August the first tranche of the federal debt on current payments and court decisions in favour of the liquidators in the sum of 162 million roubles arrived to the Rostov Region. These funds - compensation for health improvement and nutrition - have been completely paid out to the liquidators.

The remained part of the debt, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was assured at the Ministry of Labour and Social Development of the Rostov Region in the sum of about 409 million roubles will be paid out till the end of this year.
