Stavropol Territory: confrontation of "Protest Committee" and pensioners with Kislovodsk Mayor

The Stavropol-based public organizations the "United Protest Front" (UPF) and the "Russian Pensioners" have launched an open confrontation demanding resignation of Vitaly Biryukov, Mayor of Kislovodsk (Stavropol Territory). The news was reported today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Gennady Popkov, leader of the Kislovodsk city public organization "Protest Committee," which makes a part of the UPF.

"The Mayor is constantly out of the city. The remaining top managers are leaving for Stavropol to their relatives for the weekend on a regular basis. And it is all done, including their individual service cars, for our money," Mr Popkov said. "Residents have pretty plenty claims to the authorities. They would not meet us, and refuse to talk... Everything is openly plundered and ruined; green plantings are cut off, the city is littered and built up; dwellers are strangled with municipal lawlessness."
