President of Abkhazia blames Georgia for escalating the conflict

Today, President of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh has met Ivo Petrov, deputy special representative of the UN Secretary General in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict zone, and chief military observer of the UN Mission General Khan-Khattak. Alkhas Cholokua, deputy head of the Department of Governmental Information, told about it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Sergey Bagapsh has expressed his serious concern in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the Galskiy District of Abkhazia, bordering on Georgia, where two peaceful residents were murdered. On the same day, in neutral waters, a Georgian military ship captured and towed a Turkish trade ship to the Poti Georgian port, which transported coal. Sergey Bagapsh in connection with these incidents has declared protest to the Georgian party.

We remind you that on July 6 in the Galskiy District of Abkhazia, in immediate proximity from the Georgian-Abkhazian border two peaceful residents of Abkhazia - minor businessmen Murman Buava and Vianor Avidzba - were shot dead.

Laurens Kogoniya, head of the Galskiy ROVD, has informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that after committing the murder, the criminals have disappeared in the territory of Georgia, which clearly confirmed by their boots' traces.

Ruslan Kishmariya, plenipotentiary envoy of the President for the Galskiy District, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that "no doubt, the crime was committed by Georgian armed formations, which had penetrated from the Georgian territory to the Galskiy District of Abkhazia with the aim to destabilize the situation in Abkhazia."
