Relatives of Ingushetian resident killed by power agents are sure that he is a victim of extrajudicial execution

Relatives of Adam Aushev, 21, a resident of Surkhakhi village, Nazran District, killed on March 21 by employees of the Department of the FSB (DFSB) for Ingushetia, reject the DFSB's version about his armed resistance and insist on an extrajudicial execution of the young man.

"Adam didn't shoot back, he had no arms. It was just an execution in broad daylight," one of the casualty's close relatives said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent when talking about the circumstances of the incident.

"In the morning of that day I met Adam in Surkhakhi near the school. Then with one of his acquaintances he left for Nazran. The whole family knew that on that day he was going to 'steal his bride', and he warned many people about it. The check point at the exit from the village was examining all the vehicles. My car was also checked at this point. Militiamen checked Adam's car, and, certainly, they found nothing in it; and he left for Nazran," said the source.

According to his version, about an hour later at the exit from the village he saw a shelled car. "I didn't recognize Adam's car, but I read about it a couple of minutes later in the Internet. The place was cordoned, and we couldn't get closer. Nobody was let there, even Gireev, Deputy Interior Minister, and local militia in general," Adam Aushev's relative continued.

The DFSB asserts that Adam Aushev was killed by response fire after he refused to stop under demand of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and DFSB for the Republic of Ingushetia (RI) and opened fire on power agents.

Aushev's relatives are indignant with such statement and assert that power agents were waiting for Adam Aushev at the exit from Surkhakhi, and the firearm was planted into his car after the murder.

"When Adam approached a column of military vehicles, they let him pass but stopped the cars that followed him. Then, when he bypassed an ATC (armoured troop-carrier), fire on defeat was opened on him from there without any warning. They didn't even want to stop him. It was clearly seen by the driver, our fellow villager, who moved some 50 meters from Adam," said Adam's relative.

Magomed Mutsolgov, who visited the place of the murder, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Adam Aushev was not a militant; he knew his as a well-known sportsman who went in for free-style wrestling and hand-to-hand fighting. "Quite recently I watched his fights, he performed a lot and won prizes," Mr Mutsolgov said on this occasion.
