Miners in Rostov Region promise to stop their strike

As a result of negotiations held with the miners on strike in the bottom hole of the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) "Chikh Mine", Rostov Region, agreement has been reached today on payment out of all the salary debts to all the mine workers. The striking miners promise to stop their action by the end of day.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, in the city of Shakhty, Rostov Region, a team of ten miners from the CJSC "Chikh Mine" refused to get up to the surface from the bottom hole after their shift, demanding repayment of all their salary debts.

"Today, negotiations were held of the initiative group of the mine and trade union with officials from the region administration, prosecutor's office, militia and mine managers. The miners were promised that all their salary debts for December and January, namely, about 8.6 million roubles, would be paid out before April 15," said Gennady Kopaev, local trade union leader.

According to his story, those who held a strike down in the mine will be paid out the whole of their salary debts. "The remaining workers of the mine will get some debt coverage, 1.7 million roubles in total," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes Mr Kopaev as saying.

All the remained salary debts, as the mine managers have assured, will be paid out during April.

Two miners have already gone up to the surface, the remaining eight promise to follow them quite shortly, as the "Interfax" writes.
