MIA: Zakaryaev's grouping of militants liquidated in Dagestan

As a result of a special operation conducted near Kakashura village, Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan, the group of militants under command of Abdulgapur Zakaryaev was liquidated. 12 militants were killed, Zakaryaev among them, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reports.

According to the MIA's statement, Zakaryaev's militants were subjected to missile and bomb air attacks. Special troops also took part in the operation. According to all available information, in the course of the operation, four fighters of special troops and the radio operator-machine gunner of Mi-8 helicopter were lost; two special fighters were wounded, as the "Interfax" Agency reports.

Adilgerey Magomedtagirov, head of Dagestan MIA, said that among the 12 militants liquidated in the Karabudakhkent District, the bodies of three foreign mercenaries-Arabs were identified.

In the place of the fight, 9 Kalashnikov sub-machine guns, 2 machine guns and one sniper's SVD rifle were found, with which the militants were armed, as the "Gazeta.Ru" Agency reports referring to the PR Division of the FSB Department for Dagestan.
