Kitsmarishvili, former Georgia's ambassador to Russia complains of beating by MIA General

Former ambassador of Georgia Erosi Kitsmarishvili has accused Irakliy Kodua, a high-ranking official of Georgian MIA, and his relatives of beating him, which, as he said, was politically motivated.

We remind you that in February 2008 Mr Kitsmarishvili was appointed to the post of Georgia's ambassador to Russia. In July 2008, Erosi Kitsmarishvili was recalled home. Later, he joined the opposition.

According to Mr Kitsmarishvili's statement, in Gudauri, a resort settlement of Georgia, the family of the official of the MIA of Georgia caused verbal and physical insult to him in the eyes of hundreds of tourists.

The diplomat immediately reported the incident to the retinue of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, but, according to Kitsmarishvili, no reaction followed. Then, the former ambassador addressed the Georgian Ombudsman and all the diplomats accredited in Georgia, as the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

Erosi Kitsmarishvili demands to initiate a criminal case against General Irakliy Kodua. The "Georgia Online" reports that Mr Kitsmarishvili thinks that the incident was a provocation inspired by the authorities as a "fact of executing a political opponent."
