"Alliance for Georgia" starts plebiscite for Saakashvili's resignation
Today, the political association named "Alliance for Georgia", headed by Irakliy Alasaniya, has declared a start of the public plebiscite towards resignation of President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili. This was announced by Mr Alasaniya at a briefing in Tbilisi.
"The 'Alliance for Georgia' starts a nationwide public plebiscite, i.e., polling of the population confirmed by signatures of its every participant," said Irakliy Alasaniya.
"By having rejected our demand to appoint referendum on early election of President of Georgia, Saakashvili has once again demonstrated that he doesn't realize the reality that the country currently has," the "Georgia Online" quotes Mr Alasaniya.
The "Alliance for Georgia" is opening in Tbilisi and other cities and districts of the country its offices intended for holding the plebiscite and running the public monitoring of the main power bodies, as the ITAR-TASS writes.
