Local residents were kidnapped in Chiri-Yurt village

On September 7, 2003 Russian military men captured and drove away in an unknown direction five locals in the village of Chiri-Yurt of the Grozny (rural) region. According to some data, two of the kidnapped were thrown away on the outskirt of the settlement, having been savagely tortured and beaten. The whereabouts of the other three Chiri-Yurt villagers has not been ascertained. Family names of the kidnapped are being specified.
