US Administration holds Georgia has achieved much success in fighting trafficking

On September 11 the White House made public US President George Bush's determination regarding trafficking. It is pointed out in the determination that Georgia made notable progress in fighting trafficking in persons.

The determination decrees that Georgia is moved from so called Tier 3 to Tier 2. It means that in view of the serious progress achieved in the fight against trafficking no sanction will be applied against Georgia.

The US supports steps made by the Government of Georgia: the investigation of trafficking cases and punishment of their organizers, the distribution of information on the treat of trafficking, the coordination of the fight against trafficking amongst departments. US Administration representatives express a hope this tendency will last out in future.
