International human rights organizations monitor Rasul Kudaev, inmate of SIZO in Kabardino-Balkaria
International human rights organizations are seeing after the fate of Rasul Kudaev, an inmate of the SIZO of Kabardino-Balkaria accused under the criminal case on the events of October 13, 2005, in Nalchik.
They keep in contact with Fatima Tekaeva, Rasul Kudaev's mother, from whom they receive information about Rasul's state of health and custody conditions.
Fatima Tekaeva says that she receives dozens of letters from different countries of Europe.
Fatima says that these letters are certainly her great encouragement. However, the situation with Rasul himself is no better, sooner - on the contrary. International attention to one of the prisoners causes irritation of the prison bosses. Rasul Kudaev was openly told that the more he complained and wrote to various organizations, the worse for him.
"I've sent 35 Rasul's complaints to the Human Rights Watch. They concerned the custody conditions in the SIZO, food and organization of medical aid to prisoners."
Rasul Kudaev himself writes from his custody that he feels not very good. His general state is unsatisfactory.
Fatima Tekaeva has also told that on December 12 Rasul underwent ultrasonic examination of his liver, which showed that he has white spots on his liver. "He has these spots from Guantanamo. They result from certain medical preparations tested in the American prison on inmates. Other Russian prisoners who have passed through Guantanamo also have similar changes in the liver."
"HRW: the prison authorities in Kabardino-Balkaria jeopardize Kudaev's life," "Trial on attack on Nalchik continues choosing jurymen," "Suspect of attack on Nalchik dies in Kabardino-Balkaria."
