Suspect of attack on Nalchik dies in Kabardino-Balkaria

On February 15, Valery Bolov, one of the defendants in the case about the attack to Nalchik on October 13, 2005, died in Kabardino-Balkaria from liver cirrhosis.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from unofficial sources.

Late in January 2007 Valery Bolov was released from SIZO (pre-trial detention facility) under recognizance not to leave because of his poor health condition. According to certain sources, Valery Bolov was diagnosed liver cirrhosis. During all his time at large, he took his treatment at the infectious hospital of Nalchik, however, doctors could not save his life.

The preliminary hearing at the Supreme Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) will continue on February 20. There are still 58 persons in the prisoners' dock.

It is expected that the outcomes of the check conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office on application of illegal investigation methods to the defendants will be announced at the hearing.
