Oleg Mironov calls on country's mass media to broadly cover jubilee dates concerned with idea of human rights defense
Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Oleg Mironov addressed mass media representatives with the appeal to cover broadly the dates concerned with human rights and "important for our country and world community".
December 10 will be the day of the 55th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. On December 12 it will be 10 years since the Constitution of the Russian Federation currently in force was adopted.
"I suggest opening special columns and programs to cover the issues of human rights and freedoms observance and defense, Oleg Mironov says in his appeal to the mass media. I am sure, this work will become important contribution to the legal enlightenment of Russian citizens, it will improve the state of lawfulness and law and order in the country, serve as a guarantee of stability and moral recovery in the society".
