Inauguration of new president of Karachaevo-Cherkessia took place in Cherkessk

The inauguration of new President of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Mustafa Batdyev was held in Cherkessk on Wednesday. Batdyev was elected President by the second round results of the elections that had taken place on August 31.

During the solemn ceremony Mustafa Batdyev was presented with the symbols of presidential power - the rod and the emblem.

Formally Batdyev assumed office of the President on September 4. That day the republican Central Election Commission officially announced the results of the elections and handed over the certificate of the president to former CEO of the Republican National Bank Mustafa Batdyev.

Mustafa Batdyev won 47.97% of vote in the second round of the presidential elections, former president of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Vladimir Semyonov - 46.41%.

67.51% of the voters included into electoral rolls took part in the presidential elections in Karachaevo-Cherkessia.
