Political prisoner pardoned the other day has expired in Azerbaijan

Political prisoner Nadir Bagirov has expired in Azerbaijan. He served 10 years in jail and was pardoned by Geydar Aliyev's decree in the late August. The death was caused by tuberculosis. Bagirov was, to all appearances, infected with it in one of the jails.

In the years of the Karabah war Nadir Bagirov was a brigade deputy head. He was nicknamed "Janga Nadir" ("Bull Nadir") for his courage. In 1993 he was arrested allegedly for his attempt to establish the Talish-Mugan Republic in the southern regions of Azerbaijan. While being in prison, he lost his wife, and now his four children has became orphans.
