HRC "Memorial" to hold press conference "Safety and Human Rights in Dagestan"

On November 24, at 12:15 a.m., the Independent Press Centre will host a press conference of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial": "Safety and Human Rights in Dagestan".

The participants of the press conference will be: Oleg Orlov, Chairman of the Board of the HRC "Memorial"; Svetlana Isaeva, Chair of the Board of the human rights organization "Mother of Dagestan"; Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, employee of the HRC "Memorial"; and lawyer from Dagestan Bakanay Guseinova.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in late October human rights activists noted activation of the armed underground in Northern Caucasus in reply to tortures, arbitrary executions and preventive violence exerted by power agents.
