Ingushetia: Magomed Khazbiev wants to appeal against MIA's actions

Magomed Khazbiev, an oppositionist to the former President of Ingushetia Murat Zyazikov, has addressed the Republic's Prosecutor's Office with a complaint against the actions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ingushetia.

"The website of the MIA of Ingushetia has placed the information that I had allegedly been jailed in the Republic of Adygea for drug dealing. It's absolute slander and lie; and I'm going to prove it at court," Magomed Khazbiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Here is what the Ingushetian MIA's website runs:

"On September 15, law enforcement bodies conducted, on instruction of the investigatory bodies for the Republic of Ingushetia and on sanction of the Nazran District Court, a search in House No. 2, Tsoroev Street, in the city of Nazran. The search was caused by a number of circumstances.

Thus, Mr Khazbiev, Magomed Khamzatovich, who lives in this house, was earlier trialled by the Maikop City Court under part 2, Articles 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal drug dealing") and sentenced to conditional three years of imprisonment."

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that on September 15 Ingushetian law enforcers searched the houses of oppositionists Maksharip Aushev and Magomed Khazbiev. However, according to Mr Khazbiev, nothing was found and confiscated during the searches.

On October 18, prior to the rally of the opposition of Ingushetia in Moscow, the house of Ahmed Kotiev, a member of the organizing committee of the rally, was also searched. On that very day, he was detained by power agents.

On October 27, power agents cordoned the whole street in Surkhakhi village, conducted searches and kidnapped three young men from the Aushev kin.
