Journalist Union of Chechnya protests against Beslan Gantamirov's resignation

On September 4 the Journalist Union of Chechnya issued a declaration in light of the resignation of Minister for Press of the Chechen Republic Beslan Gantamirov.

"The reorganization of the Ministry for Press, TV and Radio Broadcasting and Mass Media Communications is aggravating the tense situation in the Chechen Republic. It is totally incomprehensible what for "to swap horses while crossing a stream". To shatter the situation on the eve of the coming Chechen presidential elections is, at least, politically illiterate, and it can affect the elections themselves. The members of the Journalist Union of Chechnya express their perplexity concerning the resignation of Minister for Press, TV and Radio Broadcasting and Mass Media Communications Gantamirov for they are convinced that his interviews in mass media cannot have served as a cause for paying him back ".
