Abductions of Chechen Republic's residents are going on
Residents of the village of Selmentauzen in the Vedeno region reported that on August 19, 2003 Russian servicemen had kidnapped four residents of the village - a 55-year old Mutuyev, his 18-year old son, Chagdarkhanov, and Shaipov. People think that the men were kidnapped by servicemen of the 45th Regiment of the Airborne Troops stationed on the outskirts of the village of Khattuni.
However, Russian servicemen of this unit categorically deny their connection with the abduction of four residents of the village of Selmentauzen. Relatives of the missing people tried to find them, but the search gave no results.
