South Ossetia accuses Georgia of shelling villages again

The South Ossetia authorities claim that Georgia shelled the villages of Sarabuk and Tliakana, Tskhinvali district, on the night of July 29.

"Starting from 22:00, shelling from mortars and grenade launchers of the villages of Sarabuk and Tliakana in South Ossetia is being conducted from the Georgian fortifications on the Sarabuk height", states Irina Gagloyeva, official representative of the unrecognized republic.

She notes that, according to the information as of 23:00, one officer of the republic's law enforcement agency has been wounded and placed to the hospital, reports "Interfax" agency.

According to the information from Tskhinvali, the Georgian party also opened heavy fire on the Ossetia villages of Sarabuk and Andis early in the morning of July 29. Peace-makers' monitoring groups arrived at the place of the incident and also got under fire. There are no casualties.

In its turn, the Georgian party has reported that, during the night, South Ossetia armed units first started fire on peace-makers and then, during the morning, shelled the posts of Georgian policemen and Georgian settlements.
