In Krasnodar Territory, "Rosprirodnadzor" and ecologists accuse each other of disinformation

The Krasnodar Department of the Russian Environment Supervisory Agency ("Rosprirodnadzor") believes that many ecological organizations are deliberately by the actions hampering the resort season. In their turn, ecologists declare that the authorities are concealing the truth about the situation in the Kerch Strait.

"I state officially that there's no ecological danger to the resort season. The Kerch Strait is in its usual condition, characteristic for any zone of intensive economic activities," Sergey Velichko, head of the Krasnodar Department of "Rosprirodnadzor", told the "Caucasian Knot".

Meanwhile, Andrei Rudomakha, chairman of the public organization "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus", says that the pollution scale of the Kerch Strait is still essential, but the state bodies hush up the truth.

"The southern part of Bar Chushka is still considerably polluted. Petroleum products from the snout of tanker "Volga-Neft-139" are still getting into the sea. This pollution is seen in recent space photos presented by the World Wildlife Fund," Andrei Rudomakha said to the "Caucasian Knot".

According to Alexei Ivanov, head of the estuary station in Temryuk, which is in charge of monitoring the ecological situation in the Kerch Strait, in the second half of June the water pollution level even went up.
