Prosecutors of Rostov Region reveal violations of invalids' rights

The bodies of the Rostov Regional Prosecutor's Office have conducted a number of inspections at social care enterprises and entities for the unimpeded access of invalids into their premises. A number of violations were detected.

In the Kuibyshev District of the Rostov Region, the District Prosecutor's Office made a check, together with the district architect, of unimpeded access of wheelchair invalids to the objects of social sphere. It became clear that central entrances to the district library, district administration and administration of Kuibyshevo village were not equipped with handrails and ramps as prescribed by the legislation.

The same check has held in the Kashar District, where an administrative case was opened against a certain entrepreneur E., owner of the "Lyubava" shop. The case was sent to magistrate judge of judicial precinct No. 1 of the Kashar District.

According to Agnessa Savchenko, senior assistant of the Regional Public Prosecutor, similar checks were undertaken in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsk. There, violations were also detected in the majority of shops and organizations, where invalids were facing difficulties at accessing public buildings. In this context, the prosecutor's office has made dozens of presentations demanding to eliminate the revealed violations.

Besides, the City Prosecutor's Office is getting ready to sue certain organizations with the aim to oblige them to establish unimpeded access of wheelchair invalids into their buildings.
