International observers find no rough violations at Georgian elections

The group of international observers asserts that, as a whole, the voting that takes place all over Georgia goes without any rough violations.

"So far, we haven't fixed any gross violations at any of the polling stations. The process is free and transparent," Mathias Yurshi, a member of the PACE monitoring mission, told journalists several hours before the voting deadline.

Meanwhile, David Gamkrelidze, one of the leaders of the block "United Opposition: National Council - Right-Wingers", has called the authorities to stop arbitrariness during the elections and threatened to start a civil war.

The observers have stated that they would not disregard any single fact of violation, to be presented to them either by the authorities or the opposition. "Any information about violations of the electoral process will be considered and reacted to by us immediately," Mr Yorshi has assured.

According to the data presented by the Georgian CEC, by midday, the voter turnout made 21.79 percent.
