"Voice of Beslan" dissatisfied with Ustinov's appointment as plenipotentiary representative for SFD

The members of the All-Russian NGO "Voice of Beslan" are dissatisfied with appointment of Vladimir Ustinov to the post of plenipotentiary representative of Russian President in the South Federal District (SFD) and sent a letter today to the new official.

"We decided to write a letter to Vladimir Ustinov, because when the Beslan tragedy had happened he was the General Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation. When he was in that position, flagrant violations of constitutional rights were committed, the Beslan tragedy was not investigated properly and objectively. By this letter we try to remind him that he is a representative of power agencies," Ella Kesaeva, leader of the "Voice of Beslan", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to Ms Kesaeva, when Vladimir Ustinov was in power, opening of criminal cases against the members of the operative headquarters, firemen and power agents who took part in releasing the hostages captured by terrorists in the school was rejected.

The victims ask in their letter that now, in his new position, the plenipotentiary representative should take the above facts into consideration.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that on May 14 it became known that Vladimir Ustinov was appointed a new plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the SFD.
