In Dagestan, suspect of murdering Farid Babaev released

Abas Abasov, one of the suspects of organizing the murder of Farid Babaev, leader of the Dagestan Regional Branch of the "Yabloko" Party, was freed under recognizance not to leave.

This was reported yesterday, on May 7, by Mirzabala Mirzabalaev, deputy head of the Investigatory Department of the Investigatory Committee under the Prosecutor's Office for Dagestan.

The "Gazeta.Ru" remands that Abas Abasov is a son of Kerimkhan Abasov, head of the Dokuzparin District of the Republic.

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that the attempt on Farid Babaev was accomplished on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, when he was coming into the entrance of his house. The unknown person who was waiting for the politician made four shots at him, including two shots at the head. Then, the attacker managed to disappear.
