Action of assistance to victims of Beslan terrorist act held in North Ossetia

From April 26 to 28, a charity action of assistance to victims of Beslan tragedy was held in North Ossetia. It was organized by representatives of the "Novye Nivy" foundation created in the USA by emigrants from the former Soviet Union.

During four years the "Novye Nivy" foundation has been implementing programs of rehabilitation and treatment of children who suffered as a result of the Beslan terrorist act. The foundation headquarters is based in Kansas-city. This has been reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Vladimir Miniakov, the foundation director.

According to Vladimir Miniakov, the foundation activists have for first time arrived to North Ossetia, among the delegation members were Oleg Maskayev, the world champion in super-heavy weight professional boxing by WBC, and his wife Svetlana, friends and people who share common ideals.

During three days, the American guests were meeting with people who had suffered as a result of the terrorist act. The foundation activists put flowers and wreaths at the Memorial cemetery, visited the venue of the tragic events in the gymnasium of Beslan secondary school No 1.

On April 28, friendly boxing competitions among teenagers were held at the sports and recreation center of Beslan in the presence of Oleg Maskayev.

It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" that the foundation activists plan to build a sports ground in the Komintern Street of Beslan and during this year, like in the previous years, groups of children who survived the Beslan terrorist act will undergo a course of treatment and rehabilitation in America and Europe.
