Military who rode down a woman in North Ossetia pleads guilty

Soldier Seitmagambetov who rode down a woman with his armoured troop-carrier (ATC) in North Ossetia has plead guilty, but the relatives of the casualty fear that he can any time refuse from his evidence.

Mustafa Pogorov, uncle of Aishat Pogorova, who was knocked down in November 2007 by an ATC of the Russian Armed Forces, has informed today the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that starting March 11, 2008, a trial is underway at the Military Tribunal of the Military Prosecutor's Office of the North-Caucasian Military Command on the fact of Aishat Pogorova's murder by riding down to death.

Mr Pogorov said that yesterday during the court session driver Seitmagambetov, D. E., serviceman of Army Unit No. 3724, pled guilty of the incident and completely confirmed the guilt.

"Although Seitmagambetov has pled guilty, I'm afraid of some dirty trick, namely, that he can any time refuse from his evidence," Mustafa Pogorov said.
