In Ingushetia, court upholds claims of Registration Service to ChCNS

In the evening on April 3, the Nazran District Court of Ingushetia decided that the Chechen Committee for National Salvation (ChCNS) had really obstructed to the audit of its activities undertaken by the Department of the Federal Registration service for the Republic of Ingushetia (DFRS for RI). The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Ruslan Badalov, Chairman of the Regional Public Movement "Chechen Committee for National Salvation".

Thus, the Court has dismissed the ChCNS' complaint, which demanded to recognize illegal the Act on Hampering the Audit of the Movement in August 2007 and the Warning on breaching the legislation adopted by the DFRS for RI on December 4, 2007.

The Registration Service complains that the ChCNS refused to present the requested financial documents. The leaders of the Committee insist that the DFRS employees had themselves evaded from the audit, since they came to the office twice without notice at the end of working days and when the chief accountant, who could give out the documents, was away on holiday.

The Chairman of the ChCNS asserts that during the last two days out of the six allocated for the audit he and the accountant were in place, ready to present any documents to the auditors, but the latter failed to appear. According to Mr Badalov, the very attempt to hold an audit in August 2007 was illegitimate, since in spring of that year the DFRS for Ingushetia had already inspected the ChCNS, and under the law the Service has no right to conduct such audits oftener than once a year.
