Court to consider the ban on "Ingushetia.Ru" website on April 11

On April 11, the Moscow City Court will consider the suit on recognition of the "Ingushetia.Ru" Internet website to be extremist one and on stopping its activities. The Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia was the claimant before the Moscow City Court.

Anna Usachova, head of the press service of the Court, has informed that the hearing on the merits of a civil case was appointed on April 11.

On March 28, the Moscow City Court refused to satisfy the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia to suspend the activities of the "Ingushetia.Ru" website for the period while the criminal case initiated against this resource is pending.

The respondent's advocate Kaloy Akhilgov is completely confident of their final victory in this litigation and convinced of groundlessness of the accusations moved by Yuri Turygin, Public Prosecutor of Ingushetia. Mr Turygin, in his turn, continues to assert that the information website "Ingushetia.Ru" is publishing extremist materials and insists on immediate ban of this mass medium.

We remind you that the criminal case against the "Ingushetia.Ru" website with charges of kindling interethnic enmity was initiated in summer of 2007 by the Kuntsevo Inter-District Prosecutor's Office of Moscow.
