Azerbaijan: decisions of the European Court will be published in the Azerbaijani language

For the first time the citizens of Azerbaijan will be able to study the cases in proceedings and decisions of the European Court for Human Rights (ECtHR) in the Azerbaijani language.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the Council of Europe's Office in Baku that the information of the ECtHR will be published in the periodical named "The Bulletin of the European Court for Human Rights".

Before, decisions of an ECtHR were published in the English and French languages.

On January 23, at the roundtable on the topic "Azerbaijani Courts and Judges", Intigam Aliev, chairman of the Forum of Lawyers of Azerbaijan, informed that the European Court for Human Rights (ECtHR) had made 11 decision on Azerbaijan, however, the legal society of the country possess no official information whether the government of Azerbaijan observes the Court's decisions or not.

As he said, the decisions on Azerbaijan concern the facts of torture, unjustified arrests, violations of the right of citizens to found associations, etc.: "The Government of Azerbaijan thinks the problem settled by paying compensations, and there is no data on measures to prevent similar violations in future."
