Sentence to officer who wounded a woman in Rostov oblast becomes effective

Today, the North Caucasus military district tribunal declined the cassation appeal of General Vasili Fomin, deputy commander of  the North Caucasus military district internal troops of RF MoI, against the judgment of Rostov military garrison tribunal.

The sentence to Vasili Fomin who had wounded the mother of three children was announced on January 14 of the current year. Rostov military garrison tribunal found him guilty under article 118, para 1 (accidental infliction of serious harm). The tribunal sentenced Vasili Fomin to a fine in the amount of 60,000 rubles. In order to compensate for moral damage, Fomin must pay 80,000 rubles to the victim.

As follows from the case file, on June 12, 2006, major general Fomin came to the rest home "Green Light". According to witnesses, he was drunk. Staying in the car, the major general fired his flare pistol. As a result, 34 years old Elena Borodavka who, by chance, was passing him by got a gunshot wound and both her feet broken.

Yuri Smoliakov, representative of the victim, stated to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent: " Elena Borodavka miraculously avoided amputation of her foot. A woman with three children can only move on crutches now".

Note that General Fomin, found guilty by the court, did not admit his guilt during the investigation.
