In Turkey, Hrant Dink's family complains of murder threats

The leaders of the "Hrant Dink" International Foundation that was established under the initiative of Hrant Dink's family has addressed the Prosecutor's Office of Turkey because of death threats and glorifications of Dink's assassins that arrived to the electronic address of the Foundation.

The complaint prepared by F. Chetin, lawyer of the Dink's family, emphasizes that the threats were sent to the Foundation from the electronic address of a certain Kemal Enigyun. Lawyer Chetin asks to find the author of the letter and bring him to criminal responsibility.

Earlier, Stepan Grigoryan, head of the Analytical Centre for Globalization and Regional Cooperation, has noted, when characterizing the situation of the Armenians who live in Turkey, in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that today the Armenians who are living in the Turkish environment are extremely circumspect and cautious.

According to Rober Attechyan, editor-in-chief of the Armenian-language Istanbul-based newspaper "Marmara", it could once seem to the Armenian community of Istanbul that the enmity towards them was over, however, after Hrant Dink's murder facts have appeared evidencing that the situation is quite different. Mr Attechyan has noted that now, after Dink's murder, Armenian schools and churches frequently receive threats.

According to the statement of Diran Bakar, lawyer of Armenian community of Turkey, its members are ready any moment to leave the country. Speaking about the murders of the editor of the "Akos" newspaper Hrant Dink, employees of the "Zirve" publishing house in Malatia, and attacks on clerics in Turkey, Mr Bakar has noted that all these incidents have caused serious alarm among the members of the Armenian community.
