Levon Ter-Petrosyan talks to the head of the PACE's observation missions in Armenia

Today in Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan had a meeting with John Prescott, chairman of the temporary commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), who is now in Yerevan.

Mr Prescott is the head of the PACE's interim commission in charge of the observation mission at the presidential election in Armenia.

At today's meeting Levon Ter-Petrosyan has emphasized that he had highly appreciated the statement of the European Union on the presidential election in Armenia. According to Ter-Petrosyan, his position is completely coincident with the EU position, which demands to cancel the state of emergency, release all the detainees, ensure equal information opportunities and enforce an independent international investigation of the events on March 1.

The "Caucasian Knot" has also learnt that on March 7 Ter-Petrosyan had a meeting in Yerevan with Matthew Bryza, assistant of the US Secretary of State's deputy and co-chair of the Minsk Group of the OSCE for settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. However, no details of the meeting are quoted.
