Military Prosecutor's Office investigates shelling of Gekhi village in Chechnya

The Military Prosecutor's Office of the Combined Armed Forces (CAF) in Northern Caucasus has initiated a criminal case under Article 293 of Russian Criminal Code ("Negligence") on the fact of artillery bombardment of Gekhi village, Urus-Martan District of Chechnya.

"The CAF's Military Prosecutor's Office has finished investigating the circumstances of the incident related to bombardment of Gekhi village, Urus-Martan District that happened at night of January 29 this year. A criminal case under Article 'Negligence' of the RF Criminal Code has been initiated against one of the soldiers guilty of a mistake in gun-laying," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by an employee of the Chechnya's Military Commandant.
