Human rights activists believe that special operation in Ingushetia aims to hamper the opposition rally

The announcement of a part of Ingushetian territory to be zone of counterterrorist operation is aimed to hamper the rally of the opposition planned for January 26 in Nazran - this is the opinion of human rights activists.

"To tell the truth, the news that law enforcement bodies have data about terror acts planned in Nazran on the day of the rally causes little of my trust. I think that there is some objective pretext, and the authorities have taken advantage of using it, because everything is done not to admit the rally," Oleg Orlov, Chairman of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

At the same time, the leader of the HRC "Memorial" thinks that formally it is not obviously possible to challenge the legality of the today's announcement of the counterterrorist operation regime in a number of settlements of Ingushetia.

Magomed Mutsolgov, leader the influential "Mashr" Ingush Human Rights Organization, has shared his opinion:

"The FSB Department and the operative headquarters have declared that terror acts had been planned in massive people congestion places. But these are also railway stations, marketplaces, schools, institutes, kindergartens. Why none of them were announced to be zone of counterterrorist operation, but only the venue of the oppositional rally and vicinity of power bodies? "

According to Mr Mutsolgov, the organizers of the tomorrow's opposition event in the Concord Square in Nazran had timely and lawfully notified the authorities by mail about the forthcoming event, therefore, any assertions of the prosecutor's office of Ingushetia about the illegality of the rally are groundless.
