Rabbi's house attacked in Derbent, Dagestan

Today at night unknown persons have thrown stones over the house of Ovadiya Isakov, Rabbi of the city of Derbent. In the context of recent frequent attacks on representatives of the Jewish community of Dagestan, the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia has published a special statement.

The attack on the Rabbi's house was made today at 3:45 a.m. The statement of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia runs that malefactors threw a stone at the window of one of the bedrooms and broke the glass. At the moment of the attack, the whole family of the Rabbi together with a nine-month child was in the room. Militia was immediately called up to the place of the incident. Fortunately, nobody has suffered.

During the last week, it is already the second case of hostility manifestation towards the Jewish community of Dagestan. On December 24 at night, unknown persons broke windows of all three floors of the building of Makhachkala synagogue. Both incidents look similar in the manner and time of attack.
