Opposition accuses Saakashvili and Georgian authorities of telephone terrorism

On December 25, at a press conference of representatives of the united opposition on the topic of political terror, Koba Davitashvili, leader of the Party of the People, accused the authorities of "telephone terrorism" and gave Mikhail Saakashvili three days to disclose his agents.

According to Mr Davitashvili, "the telephone terror with threats has resumed. We know that the United National Movement has planted its agents into the ranks of the united opposition, where they try to undermine the situation from within."

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that Davitashvili has stated that he published the telephone records with insults to Bezhan Gunava, a Party member.

"At one of our headquarters in Akhaltsikhe (Samtskhe-Dzhavakhetiya), two employees confessed of being agents, one of them was a high-ranking employee of law enforcement bodies. And telephone calls are made by such people, who get their salaries for causing psychological destruction of personality," Mr Gunava said.
