Son of local administration's head was killed in Chechenya

Rebels have killed the son of a Chechen official in the village of Ulus-Kert in the Shatoy district, said Saidasan Duzayev, the head of the district administration.

According to his words, several dozen men wearing camouflage and masks entered the village and shot the local leader's son, Sayid-Akhmed Arsakhanov, in the courtyard of his house. The deceased taught physics at a local secondary school.

Half an hour earlier, the rebels had broken into the house of the local resident Abumuslim Aibuyev and demanded that he showed them the house where the head of the local administration lived. Aibuyev refused to do so and was beaten up. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The assailants managed to escape.

A search operation has been launched to obstruct and detain people involved in these incidents.
