Azerbaijan: "Musavat" calls on the opposition to unite against repressions

The "Musavat" opposition party has appealed to the oppositional forces of Azerbaijan with a proposal to set up the Resistance Movement for fighting against repressions of the authorities.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from Arif Gadzhily, head of the executive office of the "Musavat" Party.

According to his story, there are many factors necessitating them to launch this sort of movement. "In the conditions of a total attack of the authorities on democratic values, the oppositional forces should unite without any preconditions in order to stop this repressive wave. The country is facing liquidation of the multi-party system, the freedom of assembly has been stopped, and the free press is liquidated," Mr Gadzhily said.

We remind you that earlier the Swedish Party "Moderat" had voiced an appeal on consolidation of oppositional forces in Azerbaijan.
