Russian TV channels stopped in Georgia

Today, broadcasting of Russian TV channels ORT, RTR and NTV, and of the Euronews channel, has been stopped in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The Georgian companies who are providing cable television services have stopped delivering these channels through their networks.

"This is a decision of the authorities. When they give a respective command, we'll resume the broadcasting," a representative of the "Aieti" company, who preferred to remain anonymous, said.

At present, only entertainment channels are broadcast over Georgia, the RIA "Novosti" informs.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the press centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia that the restrictions on operation of mass media caused by the state of emergency introduced in Georgia would not touch foreign editions.

We remind you that the situation in Georgia remains very tense. On November 7, the state of emergency was introduced in Tbilisi.
