In Quarter 4 of 2024, four person perished and one wounded in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
In the period from October 1 to December 31, 2024, at least five people suffered in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus: four were killed and one was wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot” based on its own materials and information from open sources.
On October 11, 2024, in Ingushetia, near the "Kavkaz" Highway, three people perished in a car shelling: a policeman and two of his relatives. According to the "Fortanga" outlet, the attack casualties were Ilez Aushev (aged 39), Amir Aushev (aged 43) and Beslan Aushev (aged 39). A TASS source confirmed that, according to the enforcers, the attack target was Adam Khamkhoev, a deputy head of the Centre for Combating Extremism of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), who was not wounded.
The above statistics cannot present the number of victims with 100-percent accuracy. Not all the data get into news tapes. It is not always possible to verify the accuracy of the statements made by law enforcement bodies; and new data on the events of the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".
On October 24, 2024, a “Rosgvardiya” (Russian National Guard) vehicle was shelled in a Grozny suburb. As a result, one serviceman perished and another was wounded. The attackers managed to escape. The “Rosgvardiya” serviceman perished because the armed attack took the law enforcers by surprise; while there is no need for additional protection for “Rosgvardiya” servicemen in the republic, law enforcers-veterans believe.
Earlier, in Quarter 3 of 2024, two people were killed and one was wounded. A year ago, in the Quarter 4 of 2023, one person perished and three others were wounded.
