Georgian opposition states the growth of the number of political prisoners

In Georgia the opposition demands that the authorities release five activists of opposition parties arrested on October 26 in the Tsalendzhikh District (region of Samegrelo, Western Georgia).

"On Friday (October 26) the police detained without any grounds activists of two parties - the Parties 'People's Parties' and 'Kartuli Dasi'," Koba Davitashvili, one of the leaders of the united opposition and head of the Party "People's Parties", said.

According to the oppositionist, detentions of opposition activists in the region of Samegrelo have recently become more frequent; in his opinion, it is connected with the mass meeting of the united opposition planned on October 28 in Zugdidi, the IA "Interfax" reports.
