Court in Stavropol Territory starts considering riots case at the Makhachkala Airport
The first hearing of the case of riots in Makhachkala was held in the Kochubeevsky District Court of the Stavropol Territory. Four defendants are accused of taking part in mass riots and violating the transport safety regulations.
This October, the Russian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) reported that in total there are 27 criminal cases to be considered by courts of the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories regarding the riots in Makhachkala; they were opened against 129 defendants. On November 29, the Promyshlenny Court of Stavropol began considering the case against four residents of Dagestan. Radjab Mutaev, Magomed Magomedbekov, Shamil Mugutdinov and Murtazali Murtazaliev are accused of taking part in mass riots and violating the transport safety regulations.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Armavir City Court had sentenced Anvarbek Ataev, Islam Ibragimov, Magomed Omaraskhabov, Rabadan Radjabov and Salik Ramazanov to freedom deprivation terms ranging from six years and four months to nine years within the riots case in Makhachkala. The decision of the appellate court showed that the remaining sentences will also be harsh, Shamil Khadulaev, the head of the Dagestani Public Oversight Commission (POC), believes.
