People were forced into the meeting in Putin's support in Chechnya

The participants of the meetings held on October 24 in Chechnya in support of the incumbent President of Russia Vladimir Putin were forced to participate in the action. Residents of Grozny told about it to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

We remind you that in the afternoon on October 24 a broad-scale youth action under the motto "We are with the President of the Russian Federation" took place in Grozny in the stadium named after Belimkhanov. The aim of the meeting was to support Ramzan Kadyrov's initiative to extend the powers of the present country leader.

According to the assertions of the authorities, over 20,000 persons rallied in Grozny, however, according to one of the participants of the action, there were no more than five-six people brought to the stadium.

The interlocutor has also told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that participation principle of students in the mass action was "voluntary-compulsory". "Early yesterday, when we came to the lessons as usually, they told us that all the lessons were cancelled, and everyone should take part in the action held in Putin's support. Then, we were put into buses, given small flags, Putin's portraits, various posters and brought to the stadium, where the so-called 'support meeting' was held," Visita, a student of one of Grozny higher schools, said.

"Usually, that style of things happen on a regular basis," another student named Rakhman has confirmed. "Every time the authorities make up their mind to hold an action, be it the First or the Ninth of May, all the lessons are cancelled; they load us into buses and bring to the city, as if for the mob scene. Those who refuse are promised to be excluded from the institute or face other problems. ...Like many of my friends, I'd never go to support Putin by myself, since I think of him as one of the organizers of massacre of my people."
