Rights defender from Rostov-on-Don complains about delay in opening attack case

In Rostov-on-Don, the police dragged out the decision to open a criminal case about an attack on the female lawyer who defended militaries' rights, who had refused to take part in military operations. The police said that an additional check was needed, she has stated.

Her colleagues assert that the attack on the lawyer has elements of crimes under several criminal articles, but the perpetrators are unlikely to be found.

The police refused to open a criminal case based on the female lawyer's statement about the attack on her committed on August 16. She was told that it was necessary to extend the deadline for checking the information she had provided. The woman has noted that, according to the law, the final deadline for making a decision on her application will expire on September 20, the "Rostov-on-Don Online" outline has reported.

Let us remind you that the lawyer believes that she was attacked because of her activities. She told that she began receiving threats after journalists had published an investigation into torture in the abandoned Petrovskaya mine in Donetsk.
