SMO fighter from Yessentuki sentenced softly for beating a person

A court in Yessentuki has sentenced Sergey Chudentsov, a local resident, to three years of conditional imprisonment (probation) for causing grave bodily harm, treating his participation in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine as a mitigating circumstance.

In November 2023, in Yessentuki, a conflict broke out among several local residents. According to investigators, Chudentsov beat up his opponent with his hands and feet, and then with a board. The victim was diagnosed with a brain contusion, skull and rib fractures.

The criminal article of "Intentional infliction of grave bodily harm" provides for up to 15 years in jail.

The Yessentuki City Court found Chudentsov guilty of causing grave bodily harm and sentenced him to three years of probation. The court has treated his participation in the SMO and his military awards as mitigating circumstances.
